Good luck with it. Must be pretty rubbish those OEM head bolts not to take more than 2 bar lol.mattie170 wrote:Update:
So we sorted the misfire with valve springs and went for a 9.5k rev limit but we believe we went out of the effiency range of the cams so the car used a lot of fuel. So after upgrading to a aeromotive fuel pump I then decided to run a smaller pulley so got 21psi at 9100rpm and the car made 488bhp. I thought I would be happy but.........as I find half the fun in making stuff and playing with the car I have sold the supercharger and going turbo. Either a gt30 or gt35 variant. Looking at other people's power plots the gtx3076r .82a/r starts restricting above 8k so need to make a educated guess as to which one will be ideal, I don't want huge lag just as long as the turbo has 20psi by 5k which even a gt35 should do. I will be making the manifold to suit the turbo and a tial Vband turbine housing as it looks much nicer. So hopefully in a couple of months the car will be up and running. Just got to be careful how much boost I run as at around 2 bar the head will lift with Oem head bolts.
Should also be receiving a vented bonnet tomorrow as I melted a alternator as the engine bay temps got pretty toasty on a hot day. This will also be handy with keeping it all cool with the turbo.
