They were certainly the first importer of Rota but knowing that pretty much everyone seems to sell them, I am no longer confident of who the source is :) Probably worth a go.

Totally understand your financial reasoning and hindsight is a motherfucker! If by balance you mean actual balance of weight distribution, you may be OK. My fading memory tells me that a Chevy small block is slightly lighter than the VG by about 100kgs

Like the colour of the wheels. Sorry I can't help with your VG issues but it does sound to me like it's going to be something simple. When we stripped and rebuilt our first engine we couldn't get it to fire up and even though the gauge said we had petrol in it we threw in another gallon and it fired up first turn of the key.
Sometimes a fresh pair of eyes can often spot things we miss, so it may be worth getting someone to have a look over it.

I mate of mine is popping over on Saturday so hopefully, as you say, a fresh pair of eyes could prove beneficial

On a side not, I picked the splitter up this evening and have paired it up against the front bumper, it is a bit short but still workable I think

I reckon the Green rims looks the nuts mate, look forward to seeing them on the car, and the kit of course :)

Hope you got back ok today chief, couldn't have picked a worse day for it in terms of the M25Ring, bet you'll be glad to be back to the mountain. Thanks for the Camera too, you really didn't need to chief but I'm well up for rigging it up in the GTR.

Don't buy any Rota's without speaking to me chief, I can get you a price on them

Cheers mate I'll definitely be giving you a bell regarding the Rota's

We'll be spending most of tomorrow trying to figure what's causing the VG issue, at first glance Marty thinks it's either fuel and/or spark related, with initial suspicions pointing at spark/CAS or PTU

We've already discussed binning the current lump and even going down the carb' V8 route, lots of ideas as always but we need to identify a realistic alternative should this VG turn out to be fooked'

Not trying to sound like im taking the piss here cos im not....but is there anyone with a proper diagnostic set up local to you that you could take the car to.....
It seems like you have been struggling to get to the bottom of the problem for a while and whilst I appreciate that everyone's comments and suggestions are for the good without actual factual diagnostic testing I feel your pissing into the wind.
I really hope you get it up and running and find its something easy to resolve but just seems like your going round in circles.

I'll put a full write up on today's efforts and eventual outcome later, but effectively this VG has to go...

We've managed to isolate and rectify several issues, but the final straw was the crank seal failing and pissing oil out everywhere (ironically just after we got it running, albeit revving slightly high)

The fact that this is an engine out job means that this engine won't be going back in

I'm going to spend the next few days pondering options and am seriously considering going down the carb' V8 route just to make future fault finding and engine work easier if nothing else

I'll load some video's from today later, the over fuelling makes it sounds like a bad day in Baghdad!!!

First video of today:

The engine had flooded so we whipped the fuel pump relay, spark plugs and coil packs out and ran it through to try to dry it out. We then opted to replace the plugs with some new NGK's and coil packs from my old Ztech engine.

It fired up but sounded....well....friggin' rough and it was over fuelling like a bastard!

So we decided to try something that I'd tried before and isolated the passenger side turbo by disconnecting the turbo outlet pipe, this actually settled it down a bit but it was still over fuelling badly

I'll load another video very shortly

Really don't know what to say, you're having as much bad luck with that car as we first had when building our current engine. Is all I can say is hang on in there don't let it beat you, even if it means scrapping the current engine:thumbs:
