The way it's been kept and its condition are way more important.

My v2 WRX was a great car, I kept the engine standard, did suspension/brakes and it would do 58s round Brands Indy all day as well as providing daily transport; kept for 2 years, bought for

Yep, I have no qualms about running 1.6bar and around 380bhp on my open deck engine. It has forged pistons and rods, race bearings and stronger head gaskets and studs. As a standard engine before the rebuild it was mapped to 1.5bar on the standard turbo with 350bhp - the mapper's considered opinion was that avoiding det was THE issue rather than absolute level of boost (Paul at Zen, one of the most knowledgeable of Impreza mappers).

The cause of the rebuild was unrelated to boost.

I think closed deck is only relevant if you're going to blow it really hard with a GT30 or SC46 or similar.

John/Ben. I think the point has been missed here.
I agree with it being wrong to pass something off as something else. However that is NOT my objective. I love the look of an STI - full stop, it's just a shame that not all wagons have that nice beefy rear spoiler etc. But to compare high end value cars and MR2s with body kits isn

Update: I now have concrete interest in the truck from three seperate parties. Things are looking good, however as you'd expect it's now becoming harder to find a wagon as of late. Would appreciate if everyone would keep their eyes open if they happen to come across one (that isn't too silly far away)

As for price Gareth, I'll be realistically looking for

Yeah good work on your motor mate.

Agree though the classic wagons either in good spec or good condition seem to be in hibernation :(
