Got the little end off the car and tacked it on:
Offered it up and it was sport on, not bad for doing it by eye.
Back off the car, and properly welded up and covered in Hammerite:
If Hammerite survived being on the 200s callipers round Snetterton it aught to survive a clio exhaust, either that or smell really bad while it burns off :/
Gave the rest of the exhuast a clean with the angle grinder brush and discovered this:
I think i may be on a hiding to nowhere with this exhaust anyhow:
My welding isn't usually that bad honest, just had to have the welder turned down to min so it didnt keep blowing holes in what was left.
Welded the mount back on (again low power thin metal :/ )
While a was waiting for the paint to dry i sat in the sun and cleaned the thread on all the bolts and on the bottom of the car with my Lidl Tap & Die set, a little extra prep prevents a lot of swearing when laying under the car holding the exhaust with one hand a trying to get the damn bolts back in.
And tada:
It remains to be seen/smelt if the Hammerite was a good idea:
Total spent:
