Looks like you've had a busy weekend!

You can lose the dash bar without sacrificing any rigidity in the shell.
The strength between the A-pillars comes from the firewall and the "lip" under the windscreen.

When you go strut brace shopping avoid the rear type that bolt onto the top of the damper shafts. They do nothing but put bending loads through the damper shafts that they aren't designed to cope with.

The front upper brace makes some notable difference and removes a little mid-corner camber change through corners like Coram when there are considerable loads being transmitted through the shell.

Thanks Pike, I thought I needed to keep the dash bar.
Now I need some bracketry to secure the steering column with the bar removed and some answers on how to mount the dash clocks.

we just drew a line and cut the dash at its last bracket which left the clocks and steering standard which was real easy

Makes me smile about cutting the dash in half with a grinder , drastic but effective . Pete

Is there any threads on here about it? I would be keen to know what you've done and the results of your labour.
