It is if the engine codes are the same... For example bam and amk engines run the same

All vag dealers use TPS so he will get you a good price hopefully, if not I'm sure Gary will have a trade account with them

Also what reader/scanner do you have as it might not show up miss fires

It's only the Torque android App, so by no means fool proof. If it does it tomorrow and keeps coughing and farting with throwing a fault, I'll get it read by a grown up and see if that helps.
Thanks again Rob,

Rob

Hmmm, bloody cars hey

Have you had it put onto a proper scanner to see if its got any codes present..on boost is where you would mostly feel a coil pack problem so maybe its not that?

No, been at work all day:(
It coughed and farted so badly this morning (2 deg outside) it nearly stalled, but after about a minute, ran spot on all the way in (7 miles, mixed roads and between 5mph in traffic and 60mph on dual carriageway) to work. Spoke with Dave J about all manner of things, but when we spoke about the car, he mentioned that some cars need the cold start activating by switching ignition on to stage 1 (lights up) depress throttle to floor once then up, then start the car.
I did this and it ran fine all the way home.
Cupra.net (sometimes a hostile place, but some good people on there) pondered if the fuel pressure regulator might be shot, or the fuel pump? I've no idea about these at all!
Definitely fine under boost, so maybe I'll drive it everywhere under boost!! ;)

Well as usual with my cars, it did nt misbehave at Dave's even though it had been left over night. The only code was something suggesting that there was a pressure issue between the turbo and a vaccum pipe (or something else technical) but the considered opinion was that it was due to over fuelling from cold. I have spoken to the "map man" about having it reverted back to a standard map. He reckoned it could the the EGR, but having run it with it disconnected this morning, it's not the EGR. I get it set back to normal, and see how things go.
The will be up for sale shortly, either as a daily, or as spares or repairs. It's a shame, but things have changed with finances too much to permit me keeping. If someone wants a cheap doner, give me a shout.

Well I discussed the issues with someone in the know today, and we chatted through the different issues and circumstances. I've disconnected the temperature sender, and so far...............:)
I'll run it for a few days and see how it goes.

Hope it works out for you, nothing more annoying than these problems that you can't seem to trace.
