Hi All,

Posted up a while ago but joined the forum after having a dig about to establish history of the R32 I went to look at (and subsequently bought) - figured was as good a place as any to knock together a small project thread.

Took it to the drag strip not long after buying it from Mark (Slaphead) and managed to not only kill the alternator but also apparently killed the clutch too - it still ran a 11.6 despite the slipping clutch though which lifted the mood a little bit

Also since I bought the car it had always seemed to crunch when going from 3rd to 4th so decided to change the gearbox at the same time as the clutch... Sourced another good gearbox along with a Spec twin plate clutch (was a little miffed about the heat spots on it but luckily they went away pretty easily)

Whilst the car was waiting to be fixed I also got rid of the CV Pro's as they weren't really my cup of tea - put a set of stock wheels on as a stop gap until I could sort out/decide what I really wanted (excuse open boot, gearbox is in there heh)

good to see a gtr being played with on the forum ,most of them have disapeared
11.6 is good going :thumbs:
Small one's are more juicy

Cheers, yeah the 11.6 was pretty good but I know the cars got more in it given better tyres and a clutch that's not slipping :) Having worked on this one a fair bit I can understand why there aren't more people playing with them :D

Forgot to mention also got a new Innovate LC-1 wideband and a Power FC Datalogit on their way to allow me to fine tune the mapping as not happy with it at the moment :)

Mark's old car is one that I'd considered buying (years ago) before he picked it up. It's great to see that it has not been broken up and sold off like mine (and so many others) were.

Looks a million times better with the OE wheels on it :thumbs:

Nice car you have there, always liked Slapheads. I thought you had another Skyline though. How is it coming from an FD (am on FDUK - gmogle) ? When mine and Bens were stock the Skyline would trounce it from standing start, from a rolling start mine would start to pull away slowly as it was revving longer. Then we went the modded route and he put another 100-150 bhp and it trounced the Rexs stock twin setup.

I was lucky enough to drive Stuarts GTR with the same suspension and it handled incredibly, especially at the Ring.

:hurray::hurray: Not only another trackdayer but another R32 GTR, and a blue one too.... Nice car chap, happy to offer any advice I can to help you avoid the various fucking disasters i've had while building mine....

It definately wont be broken, only improved :D Not quite 100% bodywork wise but would imagine there's not much that can touch it for the money :)

I had a grey skyline on Orange Rota GTR's for a while but it suffered a cracked head so I sold off all the parts I had for it (injectors, fuel pump, z32 afms etc) and sold the car to fund buying another one with all those types of bits already fitted which was this one :)

I wont lie I miss my RX7 loads but i'm also sure there's alot of fun to be had from the Skyline yet :D

Cheers heh :D Only a stopgap though, hoping to get some different alloys (18s) at some point soon to both fill the arches better and also to give space for larger brakes :D

Indeed, what sort of diasasters have you suffered? I know i've got alot of work head of me before the cars ready to hit a track in anger again yet, but it'll get there :D

Go for some Volks if you can, nothing looks better on the car than proper JDM wheels !!
18s will be a fair bit of cash though.

Good to see you miss the Rex, something about them eh even though mine currently is in bits I can't help but smile everytime I go to the garage ;)
R32 is a superb car though and deffo my alternative choice (or a
Midnight purple R33) !!

I'm a wheel snob when it comes to R32's - only TE37's :) - I sold my R32 to a chap in france who immediately binned the 17inch gunmetal TE37's for a nice 18inch set of TE37's .. Wish I'd bought them in 18inch the first time round.
