The bellhousing turned up today for the chevy which took me buy surprise as i only paid for it thursday PM bearing in mind the weekend thats only 2 working days and its got to come over from California .I use Classic Industries for the OE parts and bits have arrived in only 2 days before , its usually a week to 10 days but 2 days thats crazy fast . This bellhousing should fit as its a geniune GM part , i also got some new radiator hoses because the ones i have are well ropey and ready to burst . All my other bits should be in this week fingers crossed i will be making an attempt to fit the box over easter weekend . While i have been waiting for bits i decided to see if i could do something about the lack of turning radius because iam getting tired of not being able to get around things without 3 point turning it , remember the autocross at Marham . After pulling the rack to bits and doing a bit of machining and shiming i managed to increase the rack travel from 120mm to 137mm which means i get nearly an extra 1/2 a turn on the steering wheel:) which should make a difference , not bad for a bit of faffing . The rack was also a bit off centre so it would turn more left than right so ive centred it up properly , all i need to to now is get the thing on the road and see if its any better . Pete:Chevy_anim:

Got another box of bits today including a funky lightweight ACT flywheel


Was a bit dissapointed with my 6 HD flywheel bolts when only 1 turned up not looking so heavy duty ,what the smeg am i ment to do with that must have ordered wrong . I will get some ARP ones when i get the clutch .Gives me plenty to be getting on with now . Pete:Chevy_anim:

Have altered the gearbox cross member to suit the 5speed and if everything is as easy as that then i will be happy . Just had to move the mount holes 40mm which i did by turning them into slots and also weld a small 20mm bit of flat onto the ends and give it a quick blast with a black spraycan.

Its well cool and i have sat in the chevy and done some imaginary cornering with it , i will admit to that . Not really looking forward to doing up them flywheel bolts because the heads arent that thick and 80ft/lb is quite a bit to drag on , i will have to physic myself up for that .Rob S wrote:That Nardi wheel looks lovely, what a complete bargain.

The clutch is the size chevy used on its big blocks and i got it because having done the axle and now the gearbox the Camaros good to handle a 500hp + motor:hurray:.
