Well, like a jaundiced sports commentator announcing round 15 of a boxing match with little or no excitement,
'Let's get ready to ruuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmbbbbbbbbbblllllleeeeeeeee :D '

A couple of weeks ago, I rang my very local garage and asked them to collect the car in their own time, the keys were in it.......I think I even said 'Good luck getting it started!' I gave them the full range of symptoms; hot starting, cold starting, running issues, tickover....the lot. 'No rush' I said.

Tonight, after two weeks of browsing for potential replacements, two weeks of knob ends ringing me up asking me

That is brilliant news!:hurray:

Now stop mincing around, get it sold before something else breaks/cloggs up or falls off, and go and get a proper (possibly un-reliable) slippery sideways winter play thing!:D
I know i and probably several others were enjoying spending your money!

Shall i go fourth and multiply now?:D

Yep ;)
If this proves reliable, as in starts and stops, I'll be keeping it for the foreseeable. The whole idea of owning the Golf goes beyond me having a cheap runner. It is an essential part of me having a laugh, day to day, the odd track day and sparring with the likes of MikeB, Tk, Ben, Jamie, Nik etc etc.
I know if I bought an S14 (for example) I could then 'mix it' with other people, but then that drops the other lads like a bag of dog shit, and gives me much bigger bills along the way.

We'll see what happens Russ, but if Grace earns her stripes over Christmas, I'll treat her to a trip to Spa and the Ring next year...........now if that isn't asking for trouble, I don't know what is :D

I was only dicking around, I hardly have any grounds to shout!;)
I hope you can now enjoy it mate? Cars can be so much more fun when they are not being just a garden ornament!:sifone:

Wasn't that simple mate.........it nearly got taken apart with a 9" grinder :)

I sincerely hope that I can just drive it and enjoy it for a while. The balance between fun and aggro did tip the wrong way for a little while now.

December 17th looks tempting :)

LOL, next time you see Matt ask him what happened to the Golf he bought from the scrapper as a daily :D 9" has nothing on that, new neighbours couldn't quite believe what was happening :smilielol5:
