Well after our trip to Spa gave the trackday budget a hiding and the fact that work has not been very good this year the car has been hanging around on the ramp most of the time gathering dust .

Before the track eve i got a carried away with the exhaust and removed the cats and some small silencer boxes which left me with a static noise test of 102db ,oops. I have also fitted a light weight flywheel coupled with an M3 clutch along with a modified ecu which has raised my rev limit by a 1000 rpm.

To address the noise issue on a budget i purchased some of this;

had a rummage around in the workshop and found some of this;

made some of these;

now all i have to do is stick them all together . also eddy pointed out that the larger tail pipes could be removed and smaller ones fitted to help but i think i will utilise the larger pipe and make them into tail silencers with the perforated pipe i have.

I managed to find some 17" rims to use which are 8 1/2" so i fitted the tyres today and offered them up on the car ,a bit more negative camber will be going on front and rear .snug is a good way to descibe them .

Those 17" alloys look superb and should give you a fair bit more grip. Hopefully the exhaust will do the job; what's the decibel limit at Rockingham?

Back to the project, did you notice any difference with the flywheel and clutch? I've only track driven my E36 and that already has a 5kg one in there.........I suppose it should help with reciprocal masses?

I'm not sure on the noise limit is at rockingham but its no worse than snet .
the flywheel seemed to let i rev quicker without getting bogged down if you see what i mean . :)
