great result

Post by Rob_B »

today after work, Matt, a friend of mine Phil and I worked at getting the s13 up and running

the cam overs came off and the breather pipes were fully cleaned out

next we replaced the inlet manifold gaskets and put everything back together

the old girl then fired up first time, and after a little bit of tinkering with the idle screw we got it spot on

we are all so happy that the extremely lumpy idle and high reving from cold was only the result of a blown inlet gasket.

we then took the car out for a quick spin around the estate, with quick being the operative word, the car went like a hell!

wheel spin in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th :o - now granted some of that was down to the amazing Wanli tyres :lol:

however the boost went up over 1bar...so obviously this needs attention

nexts jobs are;
wire up some oil and water gauges
acquire a oil cooler
look at the boost and fueling

Managed to get a lovely nearly new rad today, the previous owner described it as mint( cheers stu :grin: )
so that'll be on in a bit as we have a bit of a leak!!

Then i can bloody road test it as im the only one who hasn't driven yet!!!

Also got it booked in for a power run and fuel check so we can figure where she at and whats going on with the boost!!

Will update the results once its been done (wish us luck :roll: )
