Is that you missing the apex Kim

Yes but by not as much as you think. And have you seen the height of the 'apex'?
Makes clipping a NW cone seem like nothing.

This is a brilliant hill - proper, proper fast and no run off.
Lisa, the wife of the guy I shared the car with, took loads more pix. I can post more if anyone is interested.
Plus some of the beach side paddock.

For me, this is the way to go. Three or four great weekends away instead of 27 cocking around cones.

You make this sound very tempting :D

Going to do at least a couple, again it depends on how the kind the economy is going to be to me.

Why is it a case of joining the Harrow car club btw? I was going to join the West Suffolk lot who meet in Horringer just outside Bury St Edmunds, I went to one of their meets a few years ago, they seemed friendly enough, and had lots of Sprinting info.

No specific reason for joining HCC but they were very helpful when many of us were starting out. I'll stay with them through loyalty.

Good to hear you'll be with us next year :thumb:

JISC is/was a HCC championship.

Where did you sprint last year?

No Jap boxes on Sat/Sun Greve de Lecq hill. Must be pre '78 although there is a silhouette class for more modern Vauxhall-engined Escorts, Rover V8 Skodas, Caterhams etc. But I'm fairly sure hill licence excludes single seaters or anything turbocharged.

Friday sprint, which is no more than a quarter mile drag with a kink/hump in the middle, is for all cars as is Bouley Bay on the Monday which is why I was in Evo at Bouley and borrowed the B for Sat Sun.

I'll sort some more pix.

As requested

The Greve de Lecq paddock... yes that's English Channel in the distance and the building is the restaurant that serves a good buffet lunch which is included in entry fee. Sorry Smiffy.

Image
Track swoops and climbs but was flat in B until this corner which is a climbing 90 left. You don't want to miss your braking point here. Oh and its slippy too as it is tree covered.

Image
Exit of previous corner. You can get some idea of how dark it was at first turn by car's colour 'change' and shadows in background. This too was flat by the end of weekend.

Image
This is near previous pic's section of track (see wall on right) but now returning to paddock driving down the hill - hence no helmet! Note run off.

Image
Bit further round track. Flat now.

Image
More wheel wagging and apex missing at the final corner. In my defence, Gerry, it was an early apex... This is at end of curving but flat blast and another where you don't want to miss your braking point. After this is the longest return road I have come across before parking up near start of bales.

Image
Finally Bouley Bay Radio hairpin. While Greve is fast and sweeping with just two main stops Bouley is tight and twisty, with a big elevation change and a series of switchback hairpins.

Who's up for an August 09 outing?

Great pix Kim and lovely weather for a good sprint weekend.

Please don't take my comments to heart. I've come to realise not to criticise your driving, it's too good :D
