What does primed mean? It means 'filled'

So you're correct

For a difinitive answer I'll ask one of the technical guys here at work....
You can't apply fitment constraints. What's the point of fitting something that's not efficient? You may as well fit a smaller cooler, that fits, but will work to it's efficiency. If it's the right size but doesn't fit, move it to somewhere where it does fit, or re-arrange what's in the way.

Kits are there to flog stuff. It makes it easy for the punter to save them having to sort the myriad of optional bits.

You've owned a Subaru long enough to realise that some of the self proclaimed specialists are full of cr@p so why take for gospel what someone at Mocal tells you just because they work at Mocal?

Be interested in your definitive friend's answer though  :D

It may gain a few tenths on Ferrari if you turn it through 90o

Can't be 99% it's either right or wrong. It's not my theory, it's physics.

In this case, I'm right. :D

You finished work for Crimbo yet?

I'm not argueing with physics, just I can see the logic that with the pressure and flow of the oil through the core that any air will be purged out of the cooler into the sump pretty quick smart!

Not finished yet, in tomorrow morning for a few hours before heading home in the Racing Citroen :D

back in next week as well :!:

Blimey, you must be busy. Sorry to hear you're still working but think of the Impreza funds.

Anyway, the air won't get shifted because the velocity decreases through the cooler. There won't be enough flow to entrain the air. You wouldn't want aerated oil through the engine.

This could all be crap theory but for the sake of orientating the cooler correctly in the first place, the question's academic. :D

correct me if i'm wrong but does this not all depend on how the actual cooler core is made :?:

ie whether the core is a single run of pipe with cooling vains so to speak or a free flow rad if you see what i mean.

cheers
