I just hope it's not too good!!!!!!
else I'm in trouble on the 6th!!!!
I'm hoping you are in trouble :D - it feels very eager to go and it has been absolutely delightful taking it out for a spin on the fen roads this evening - I forgot how well it handles 8)

Update from today.....

After being out mapping this morning whilst Annabelle was at Tri Club as usual, the time was there to go through some of the other items on my to-do list.

First a pic of the FMIC to whet your appetites lol.

Richard (Ren) very kindly arrived to give a hand on his way back from Cambridge and we cracked on with the main jobs in hand. Cheers Ren - much appreciated :thumb:

1st thing to do was fit the Phormula Knock Analyser. Sort of a knock link but a bit more stylish looking and having the ability to plug in headphones to listen to the knock.

I fed the cable through the hole in the bulkhead and because the orange cable clashed with the red vacuum tubing, I enclosed it in some red tubing I had to make it look like it blended in :)

Knock Sensor mounted on the inlet manifold - this may not be its final resting place though:

Unit mounted in the car:

We later changed the positioning of this :D

Main job was bonnet pins.. first we found a couple of holes that could be enlarged to take the pins:

This shows the blob of grease that was used to mark the position under the bonnet where the bonnet would need drilling.

Both pins provisionally mounted:

Bonnet masked:

One done:

Both done :D

Then to remove the radio and move the phormula ps3 using a handy piece of carbon to blank it ...

looking all good :thumb:
could you not have routed the wires for the knock unit where the stereo was , drill two holes in the carbon and have the plugs in the unit with no wires on show. just an idea

how many miles you running it in 1000 ?

Boost will start being wound up a little from around 500 and rev range extended. I have never believed in a strict 4000 rpm limit to 1000 miles then nail it. I have always run them in gradually, easing up the loads / revs as it wears in - i believe that it runs it all in more evenly.

Luckily Mike agrees with this and to be honest it will probably coincide with the progress with the mapping.

That was my initial thoughts but didnt in the end - I cant remember why at this moment

I decided the radio had to come out - bloody heavy and I hardly ever listen to it now as the engine sounds soooo good :D

YOURS IS STILL IN !!!!

:o :o :o :o

I cant quite bring myself to take the speakers out yet just in case I want to put the stereo back in it

I am starting to face facts that this is a track car now, that can be driven to events but I still want it to be road legal - I love driving it so much.
