Favourite Corners

Post by duncan »

Been thinking a lot about driving at the 'ring (did I tell you we were going in 25 days time? :) ) and was thinking about my favourite corner/s at any race track whilst doing laps of the circuit in my mind.

I cam up with:

UK: Gooseneck at Cadwell with the combination of right, left and crest to a blind exit and fast downhill to the next corner

Nurburgring: Hohe Acht - the uphill combination at the highest point of the track as you enter the real Green Hell is awesome. Overhanging trees and crests, dips cambers make this pretty good fun :D

Snetteron: The bombhole.
Nurburgring: The second left/right after Karussel. The one thats on the side of a hill with insane camber. I LOVE IT! :)

I'd have to say Riches at Snetterton since i had the tuition session with Mr Devlin :D

As Snetterton is the only track I have driven my choices are limited but I will hopefully have more to choose from in the not too distant future. :)
I may be getting older but I REFUSE to grow up :D

Craner curves Donnington
Now that we've improved the handling of the car can't wait to get back out there.

whilst trying to find out which corner was "riches", i stumbled across this virtual guide to snetterton
Sear corner is slightly slower than Riches and requires a very smooth application of the power at the exit. You'll be up to third gear and accelerating hard as you come into this turn. The car should be right at the left edge of the track after the previous turn. Continue past the 200 marker and then right after reaching the 100 marker brake as hard as possible.

mind you, it also says the Esses can be taken at 90mph! :)
