Tyre Temperature / Pressure Measuring Tool

Anyone got any recommendations for a little gismo to measure tyre temps/pressures?

Looking for one to help with my addiction in this matter (thought I would say it before Stuart did) for a reasonable budget

Jon, had a tool for measuring tyre temps at Cadwell, perhaps pm him.

SilverR33GTR has a hand held pointy laser thing that works very well.

Johns piece of kit is a little expensive for my needs

dynamix, you are seriously in need of a thermocouple and a DVM that will read its output:

A nice skinny probe like this will fit between joins in your boost pipes to give you air temps, and putting the tip against the tyre wil give you the surface temperatures you're after:

But when I started looking for a suitable DVM with k-type input... I found this:

By the time you've bought the thermocouple, temp compensated connectors and leads, and the thing to read the output you'd have spent more than that costs!

I have an infrared thermometer like the one above but it has a higher temp range so you can check things like brake temps aswell. Got it off my snap on man for about

I use an Ir job .

You need to know the temp across the tyre surface to learn anything.
