It's not secretive just not 100% I'd like to do away with the MAF for one thing as it and the ABS take up so much space they prevent me sorting a decent cold air feed. Had a quick word with Steve Simpson and, other than sounding a decent sort, the ecu sounds about right.blacky wrote:hehehe, its all getting a secretive now :!: Whys that Gerry, all these boys are in my class, not yours!
Be interesting to see your feeback "if" thats the one your getting! My ole Gems is okay but I have used the car a coiple of weeks for work and the cold start etc is not very friendly!
Best bet is to hard wire the fuel pump to the battery.255l walbro fuel pump and told by alyn to check the feed to it aswell as these often get corroded and lower the power,
13.5 is seriously lean under power. Mine's in the 11s or even high 10s.Tk wrote:on the phone to alyn at asp saw me a few quid lighter today but very cheap with delivery aswell , top guy and recon they will be with me tomorrow ,
dyno day at APT was a disaster for me and only managed 1 run and told its running seriously lean at about 13.5 whatever that means :? but i was expecting this to be honest which is the reason why i took it up there to find out.
so due to my car running lean i have bought a new 255l walbro fuel pump and told by alyn to check the feed to it aswell as these often get corroded and lower the power,
also on order is a set of new rear discs and pads
so looking forward to SAFE power !! and start enjoying the car
Well worth doing - 13.5:1 is way too lean to be safe. As Gerry says I map mine to 11:1 give or take a bit for safety.Tk wrote:on the phone to alyn at asp saw me a few quid lighter today but very cheap with delivery aswell , top guy and recon they will be with me tomorrow ,

i plan to get a knocklink soon to be safe i cant afford another rebuild just yetGerry H wrote: 13.5 is seriously lean under power. Mine's in the 11s or even high 10s.
Do yourself a favour Trev and get a Knocklink, it'll alarm you to any det from lean running and is a LOT cheaper than another re-build. Piece of P to install too.
Fuel filter OK?
