So.........insured and looking forward to a drive for the first time in two weeks my main aim was to get some miles under the tyres :) The weather was gorgeous; fecking cold but dry and bright- ideal for a hoon.

The tyres are quite clearly knackered so I took it pretty steady, only having a play at low speeds
With weather this glorious, there was only one option. Drop the roof and enjoy 27 miles of headroom

Driving impressions were really good. Great feel, a lovely noise, far from quick but nippy all the same. I knew that the soft top was pretty much shagged so when I got back the first thing to do was unbolt the old 'hood'
Image
18kgs later and I was quite pleased by the condition of the rear 'bit' (fuck knows what you actually call it'

Time to chuck the hard top on and fitting couldn't have been easier, although it is definitely a two person job

I'm chuffed with the improvement over the original silver paint and the rattle black is acceptable standard wise. I was less chuffed with getting stuck in week old snow and spending the next 30 minutes skidding around the garden until I could get it back in the shed :D

The diff made a couple of funny old knocking noises but then I suppose that's inevitable after the beans that I had given it

I hope it thaws out in the next couple of days. It only cost

Looks miles better mate, and you'll recoup money when you sell those wheels and steering wheel.

Just one question, where's the green mirrors?

In Essex

I may keep these wheels and use them for spares/mucking around etc. Some of the JDM bummers may persuade me to sell them once they've been refurbed......we'll see. As for the Momo wheel that is in there, it is the standard wheel mate but many people don't seem to realise that you only need to take the horn pad off!

:D :D Will be up for sale cheap very soon if anyone wants it.

Nice Stu, liking that. I was about to comment about you still having the roof on !!

Glad you are pleased mate, certainly looks good. As we both know straight line speed won't be great but cornering is the definite strong point of the car :)

It was almost too fast on turn in for the first few miles :D
No overhangs, tiny car length and crazy steering all meant I had to take lock off several times.........bodes well though. With better tyres, a stiffer set up and more familiarity the cornering grins should be big even if the ultimate speed isn't.
Just in case the Corbeau's don't allow me to get low enough for true comfort, I have found these and wondered whether they were any good?

Does anyone have any experience with these?

A question for any MOT boys out there.......

If I fix the drivers seat to the floor pan, so that there is no adjustment to the seat position, is that likely to be an MOT fail under the new rules?

Thanks
