Just to emphasis Alan's determination and willingness to work. He has been driving 120 mile round trip each day and working a minimum of 10hrs a day to get the engine built and in the car.

DAY 6

today paul came over to with me to have a look at how we were getting on with the car and he is quite happy with it.
never managed to get as much done today as i had wanted to for one reason or another nore did i take many pics ether

made up some brackets and fitted oil cooler into place
Image

paul put the cone filter together and attached it to the turbo
Image

fitted the wastegate and screamer pipe onto the manifold
Image

then fitted green injectors and fuel rail onto the inlet manifold
Image

other jobs i did today were fitting
throttle body
alternator belts and tightened
power steering belt and tightened
all water pipes
relocated horns
rewired the window wash bottle
boost hose's
dizzy cap and rota arm

also had to take propshaft off and make some ajjustments to it
as it would not slide into place as it should have done.

Mate, I didn't come over to check up on you and I am not 'quite happy with it'. I am just stunned by how much you.ve got done in a short period of time, and your ability to do just about anything. It just looks AWESOME

From what I understood yesterday there is still a fair bit to get done.

Engine wiring loom
Uprated wiring for fuel pump
Hoses to be fabricated for intercooler
Fuel lines to be fabricated
Bracket for exhaust/ wastegate to be fabricated
Bracket for exhaust to be fabricated
New fixing points for rear anti roll bar to be made

we are also still short of a throttle cable and a gear stick.

We still haven't given up on being out on track this sunday and won't give up till the early hours of sunday morning.

Our Goal for the time attack round at Snetterton has also been set. I have been studying the competitions power to weight ratios (were possible) and placings, whilst Alan has been studying lap times, sector times and terminal speeds of various cars. So we are all too clear of what Alan needs to do.
To make things a little easier Alan's target for snetterton is just to beat 1 particular car.

Best of luck guys........don't rush for the sake of it; there are plenty of events between now and Snett in October. You have more than two months :)

Snett, as you both know, rewards practice and tuition. The big, big corner speeds give you a big opportunity to gain valuable time on your opponents there. Get some seat time!!

We're pushing hard but not cutting corners. We want the car car finished and as Alan has put it Gordon has to earn money and whilst we are taking up one of his lifts it makes things harder for him.
Sunday would be nothing more than a shake down for the car and Alan, can't do that on public roads.
