Right, an update......I did like Dom and went for one of Ed (on FDUKs) new looms for a single turbo which removes all the redundant plugs from the twins and looks a heap nicer than my 'cover them with insulating tape' approach !
To remind you guys what they looked like....
Now the first port is to start unplugging in the footwell from the ecu and a couple of other connectors.......easy when the car is out of the garage but not easy when it isn't. Therefore had to have a massive declutter and get the car out.
Nice moody shot of the wheels back on and it lowered back to the ground. I'd forgotten how much I miss my car and how good it looks

Once I had taken a load of rubbish and fishing stuff and engine parts etc out the garage the car was out and the job tackled.
Now I'm pleased to say I did make some progress and my fingers and hands are certainly gonna have felt that some stuff was done as I managed to get the loom out and the new one in and plugged into the ecu. Also after a bit of fun underneath the car (plus with a broken connector to deal with!) I managed to get the gearbox sensors all connected.
So thats where we are up to now, the car has half the old loom still in and half the new one still in.......rubbish photo but shows it.....
My idler pulley I bought cant be used with this turbo so having to buy one from the US and also taking the time to tart a few of the pulleys up also with some aluminium ones (all dependant on the idler one). Waiting on exhaust wrap to wrap the downpipe which should arrive this week. All being well I can get the loom finished this week and then start finally putting the turbo kit on properly.
To coin a phrase I saw on a website this morning.....
