Successful morning and I'm knackered and cold now (getting old so starting to feel the cold a bit more than normal!) so have come inside.

Fuel lines all secured and tight (although I'm not sure about one of the hose finishers so will check that in the morning.

Red bling bolts all fitted and I think they look pretty good, sample....

Did have a crack at cleaning the enginebay and putting some wax on so it does look a lot better although it does highlight how sht my enginebay paint is now after the rebuild when I bought it etc :( (before anyone says....not I didnt clean the headlight covers!!). Have found some bits need some hammerite so I have that to tidy those bits up.

Also cut the pipe that I needed to join to the water pump but the numpties I bought the hose finisher have sent me the wrong size so its too big to fit :(

Why is it always 3 steps forward and 2 back ?!!!?

Battery on charge though to connect up and test the fuel lines tomorrow. Plus Em asked me if I had finished taking it apart and am putting it back together yet. Hadn't thought about it like that before but now I am definitely putting it back together :)

Getting too old? :) You must be 33, tops!
Looks pretty clean considering mate and the wax will help you stay on top of things too. Did you have any plastic cleaner for those four things bolted to your inner arch?

I have the vinyl and rubber care but forgot to use it. Good shout mate will try again tomorrow.

Yes I am 34 but today the temp seemed up and down, when the sun came out it was glorious but then when it went in it looked like I was smoking 5 fags at once !! :D

Right, an update......I did like Dom and went for one of Ed (on FDUKs) new looms for a single turbo which removes all the redundant plugs from the twins and looks a heap nicer than my 'cover them with insulating tape' approach !
To remind you guys what they looked like....
Image

Now the first port is to start unplugging in the footwell from the ecu and a couple of other connectors.......easy when the car is out of the garage but not easy when it isn't. Therefore had to have a massive declutter and get the car out.
Nice moody shot of the wheels back on and it lowered back to the ground. I'd forgotten how much I miss my car and how good it looks :)

Once I had taken a load of rubbish and fishing stuff and engine parts etc out the garage the car was out and the job tackled.
Image

Now I'm pleased to say I did make some progress and my fingers and hands are certainly gonna have felt that some stuff was done as I managed to get the loom out and the new one in and plugged into the ecu. Also after a bit of fun underneath the car (plus with a broken connector to deal with!) I managed to get the gearbox sensors all connected.

So thats where we are up to now, the car has half the old loom still in and half the new one still in.......rubbish photo but shows it.....
Image

My idler pulley I bought cant be used with this turbo so having to buy one from the US and also taking the time to tart a few of the pulleys up also with some aluminium ones (all dependant on the idler one). Waiting on exhaust wrap to wrap the downpipe which should arrive this week. All being well I can get the loom finished this week and then start finally putting the turbo kit on properly.

To coin a phrase I saw on a website this morning.....
