Couple of things which some specialist forget, is that the heads will need a very light skim and the block halves will need to be checked for flatness, other wise you will repeat the problem again.

If its done it several times, i would certainly change the head bolts for new ones or the ARP ones, as they have probably stretched.

Again, as its done it several times, it suggest you have a more fundamental problem elsewhere, given the age of the car, i would point my finger at a somewhat inefficient radiator, as they are prone to clogging with age and causing the symptons you have. New rad is cheap enough.

Tried something new today, (new to me anyway) and so far, so good. Done 50 miles and it's been spot on! 8)
I'll do some more miles and either anounce a temporary reprieve or a steaming disaster!!
