I bet that was a shock!
On the bright side Rob, as Gareth says, these things are getting more rare all of the time. As a medium to long term bet, this should be a winner.
Once you're on a circuit, Vtec wound up and you're pinging through the gears, the memories of a bit of welding will be long gone.

No more rust!
right time for a quick update
all the welding has been done and i have spent my evening getting high on seam sealant, spray paint and wax oil
just gotta bolt the side skirts and interior back in
hopefully gearbox will be sorted later during the week
then its time to get her mapped - with matts help
pics of some of the work are below

Spot the problem here??!!
ok the gearbox was removed today to indentify the reason the car had problems selecting gears
i was told by the previous owner that the car had only just had a clutch change....so you can guess my surprize when i was saw this
time to spot the difference with the clutch faces...hmmm

going to see if i can find the receipt for it...as this is an absolute disgrace
if i do find the receipt i dont think i will be accepting a replacement - not if this pile of s**t is anything to go by

To be honest, I think you're over reacting with the car
It's a nice, rare JDM model, overall great spec and even better considering it was a Cat D
Only kidding buddy. Once you out there in permanent V-tec mode, all of these niggles will pale into insignificance.
The car os looking great by the way. Those new hoops turned up yet?
