Scooby Advice
If you had made arrangements to see a car that was advertised with the wording "Subaru Impreza WRX 2ltr turbo, sti replica." What would you expect to see when you turn up???

" Uh Betty you should of seen this car in Ely today!! it had stickers and stripes
all over it, and when it started up, the noise!!!, I could feel my teeth rattling!!!"
Non turbo gx awd with a kit what a waste of f###### time.
How difficult is it to fit a clutch in a scooby then guys, having a look at another car thats clutch is starting to slip under load in 4/5th??

Only problem with the box is that it's bloody heavy.
Trying to do it whilst on your back won't be much fun and you'll need two of you under there to take it off and put it back on. You'll need plenty of clearance under there too so the higher in the air the better.
Make sure you fit the clutch using a clutch alignment tool (cut off gearbox shaft) as there is nothing worse than struggling to get the box on when the clutch wasn't lined up in the first place specially when you're on your back!!
Persoanlly I'd buy a car that worked properly in the first place. Nothing worse than buying a car to drive everyday and you have to start spending money on it straight away and getting your hands dirty from day one.
Spend a bit more and get a good one in the first place unless you like getting mucky and enjoy steep learning curves

Buggers cancelled my op just a couple of days before it was due. Inconsiderate barstewards!!

Personally, faced with a clutch change without help and decent facilities, I'd take the engine out. It'll take longer but it'll be a darn sight safer and easier than grovelling about underneath.
Clutch kits are on ebay for reasonable money or the occasional g/b on S/net.

Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!

I fully agree with Gerry about the engine out instead scenario. I've taken mine out and it was pretty easy all in all....you just need a crane and Gerry's your uncle!!

Ive brought cars in the past just to repair for something to do, mad but i get board quickly.unless you like getting mucky and enjoy steep learning curves
Was just checking that it was possible without removing the engine. I have known the car for a while, clutch is the only issue and it helps in the bartering stakes if you know the costs and difficulty involved.
