888's, A048's or V70a's. What's your choice?

You will need to come in on a flying lap to get a good measurement of temps and pressures so help will be needed in the pits (good job for James I reckon)
Oi! You think Jon would let me anywhere near those 888's? :blush5:

My R888's and wheels turned today and were very quickly fitted (My god they grip like a grippy thing).
The weight of the wheels are far less than my current Redlines and even lighter than my Rota SDR's. Does anyone recognize what make the wheels are?
There are no markings on the wheels and the guy i purchased them from doesn't know either.

Wait until you get on track and actually get some proper heat into them ;)

Believe me, I can't wait. I'm astounded by just how much grip and feedback the 888's give over a standard road tyre. I've spent an inordinate amount of money on other mods hoping for more speed but these seem to be the missing link in the chain of much improved lap times.
Excuse me if i sound like a kid at christmas, But these tyres have seriously got my trackday juices flowing and it almost seems like I'll have to learn to drive my car again with these fitted.
Roll on the 21st at Snett :driving:

Having never driven Snett in the wet and seeing as it's going to be p!ssing down on Saturday, Is it worth using my 888's? or just run on my Conti road tyres?
I've used the 888's in the wet on road and they felt superb, although standing water was an issue! Is it possible to get enough heat into them on a wet day on track?
Help!!!

There's wet and wet John. I've used the R888's in truly awful weather and got reasonable grip but the feel was awful. I guess I'd feel happier with a proper wet slick or road tyre for rain or a wet circuit. Peace of mind over lap times I reckon, especially for track days :)

Thanks Stu, That was kind of what i wanted to hear. I don't particularly want to end up in the tyre wall or worse cause a problem for another driver, But i am so itching to try the 888's on track. Guess I'll have to wait a bit longer to test them out properly :(

The weather may soon change yet Jon (i hope!)!

Think it was this time last year on a wet track that i got in with MikeB in his impreza for a few pax laps - fairly sure he was running 888's and that felt amazing. Was only a wet track though, no standing water from memory.

Probably better safe than sorry though.

p.s. can i use them instead? :D
