Sorry, all my fast cars are gone.

My automotive joy is now this

Image

1952 Dodge M37 power wagon. So far completely stripped and repainted, rebuild much of the engine ancillaries, replaced many missing parts. More jobs to do, and doing all the work myself which is a first.

Well it fits the "Big" part of the name. Got to be worthy of a project thread! :auto:

Hello chaps, this is so great to see the old site up and running again. :hurray:
I’m definitely feeling, and probably looking older. I find it quite frightening looking in any mirror now as there is always this wrinkly sad faced old bugger looking back at me. Still it’s better that than the alternative ;)
I still have old yella, I think it’s about 15 years now? The poor old thing has hardly been touched in years but still starts first time every few months. I have Harry’s old Subaru too for parts as rot got the better of that although that is slumbering somewhere at the back of my greenhouse untouched in years.
Who else still has their old toys?
I did go out to buy paint a few years ago, and came home with a BMW 330CI M sport
I did have my Renault Traffic van on display on the GTrenaultsport Club stand at Trax last year. That’s been my latest toy/project shared with my son converting that from a bog standard van to day van.
My daily driver is however a proper old mans colour java brown Audi allroad.

I'll see your old man mobile and raise you Nissan's attempt at a Chelsea Tractor. A Nissan Murano. Bought as a temporary replacement when a Muppet wrote of Laura's car, it just keeps going and never misses a beat, that was two years ago. Still have the Midget though I need to find time to build a garage to restore it in, oh and a MK5 GTi.... Unmodified

Hello maff I hope you and the girls are keeping well? It truly is shocking how the days roll into weeks into months and before you know it years have passed and you just loose contact with people.
Now I know I spend a lot of the time out on the road travelling up and down the country, but does anybody else while travelling through certain towns and areas think of the old friends that live/lived there? For example in the summer months when the sun is out on Sunday afternoon and we go out for drive with the roof down in the bmw, we always seem to end up at Cromer. Every time I think to myself “I wonder how maff is doing? And will we bump into him?” Same goes for Thetford and Dan, Birmingham/Wolverhampton it’s Paul and Alan, Colchester it’s TK - miss your banter buddy, should you ever read this. ;) North Weald is Rob S and so on. Perhaps it is just me, but I do it every time.
I appreciate a lot of the old crew keep in touch via Facebook - for the anti FB people like myself, it would be nice to know how everyone is getting on?
Oh and maff there is nowt wrong with a reliable daily driver like a Murano. You however pick up grandad points if it’s a nice shade of beige or brown ;) :)

(No racing beige here!)

You should do a orject thread for your van, it's something i'd been considering for a while, sleeping on a roll mat in a tent is getting a bit old!
