Good stuff mate, I knew you would've done plenty of research yourselves but I still thought it was worth mentioning.

Handy to know about the driveshafts- at least it's one upgrade you don't need to buy! :)

I've got some things going on in the background- so the 'ol girl may be out sometime soon. ;)
Finishing off the Ford ;)

Cheers for that Danny information is key. We spend hours going over the TSL timing sheets. Studying sped traps sector times the lot. Alan spends more time going through this info than me. Besides this we also study photos of the car, pitch angle, body roll, behaviour of the wheels etc. Then we'll argue about where we're loosing time and why and what we need to do to improve and finally costs and then go from there.

2 days to go and we'll be back down at APT. Just having a little tune up after fitting the freshly rebuilt turbo and fitting the Bosch 044 fuel pump, (Kindly donated to us by Pez - Thanks mate).
Still feel nervous about taking our car to APT, feels like we don't belong there with our old, battle scared Sierra.

well we have done a little bit of the work on the car today to diagnose some the faults that were occurring while at APT yesterday.

so what we know so far,
1, throttle position sensor is faulty
2, timing is out, looking at it timed seems the exhaust cam is one tooth out opening up early.
3, tapping noise from engine, I think its the tappets but had look at the tops to see anything obvious but not so they need to all come out.
4, bottom pulley not lining up with marker on the block.

took the pulley off and what presented its sell err well I carnt repeat what words were said when we sore the key

Gary you think this could be a problem

It's good that's these things were found, but what would cause the exhaust cam to be out or has the belt been changed recently? Is the tapping noise new, I think the yb is quite noisy anyway. Sounds like it was well worth the trip
I've got to get to APT to have my escort checked out, sounds like they are becoming a ford "specialist"

The cambelt was changed a couple of months ago and the car hasn't done anything track wise since. This is currently being looked into further. We also found that an extra washer had been put on the crankshaft bolt. Again we don't know why.
I think Gary just knows his stuff what ever the car and if it's not right he'll tell you.

So you guys still have the Sierra? Sorry I’m so out of touch standing my ground and refusing to do Facebook.
