Nice work Chris, looking much better without the decals !

Get those fixed buckets fitted soon before the cat gets its claws on the material :)

Nice red Scooby by the way, neighbours must think either you are really cool with all this performance machinery turning up or you are the least popular with all the noise from those cars :)

lol id go with the least popular as the average age on my street is about 75! They probably think im in business, the amount of different cars that are parked on my drive, but in reality 2 aren't mine!

The scoob is my mate Johnny's. Its really really clean but unfortunately his turbo went a couple of months after he bought it so it was swapped out for a rebuilt item. Runs well now but a few small things he wants me to sort for him.

Then there is Doms RX7.....still there.....ahem! :)

Cheers for seats Gary. Just managed to get the passenger side in before it pissed it down. Ready to race!

Hi all.

Had a track day with the 200sx owners club on Sunday at Snetterton. Was the first time on track with the Nitrons, ARBs and 6 pots so was quite excited to see what difference they would make.

I had the dampening set 6 clicks from the hardest front and rear to start and adjusted the tyre pressures to 30 all round when hot.

Straight away it was clear the car is so much flatter and more confident in the corners. Turn in was excellent and mid corner corrections were just so accurate and really fun. The feedback through the wheel was exceptional.

I had a real big issue with understeer last time. This was vastly reduced but still present on the hairpin corners. I adjusted the dampening so that the front was a little softer and the rear was harder. This helped but it was still understeering at the hairpin before the back straight (200 track). I think this is probably now down to the 225s at the front.

All in all, very very impressed with the car. It is so nice to drive, very fast in the corners and feedback is really great. Oh, and the brakes....fantastic. I was giving them a real beating and there was no hint of fade.

So a few more things to do to solve the understeer issue:

- Get 255s up front
- Get adjustable camber top mounts and dial in more camber (3 deg)
- Get rear adjustable arms and dial in more camber

I will also need a secondary fuel pump setup at some point as the car was getting fuel starvation under half a tank which was very annoying.

Here is a flyby that my mate took. Its actually pretty quiet with the AC backbox. Ran 92 static. These was another M3 there with a guttered stock box. Was very loud and sounded really nice but I think he struggled with the static reading which at Snetterton is pretty high at 105db.

Glad it went well for you & not surprised at all that the changes that you've made have paid off so well :)

Hi guys. Long time, no speak! How are you all?

Got a question on understeer that im getting with the M3 that some of you might be able to answer.

So was at Snetterton again last Thursday. Was a lovely hot day and perfect track conditions.

However, I'm still getting really annoying understeer when driving the car hard. The car has loads of grip in general and is well balanced mid corner, however the front seems to push on too much into a corner and the front tyres are really screaming around most of the circuit. I don't get any significant oversteer unless I induce it myself. The car understeers far more than oversteers.

Here is my spec:

- 255/40/18 Newish Eagle F1 front - 1.2 deg neg front - 30psi hot
- 255/40/18 Worn Kumho KU31 rear - 1 deg neg rear - 30psi hot
- Nitron Coilovers with 6 clicks from full hard front and 4 clicks rear
- Uprated front ARB, stock rear ARB
- Rear end stripped out

Questions: Do I need more front camber? Is the front ARB making it worse? Are the tyres the issue?

I'm getting around 2:19 on the 300 circuit. Any advice welcomed!

Cheers
Chris

Soften the front end up.

It could indeed be the ARB, but to begin I'd put the Coilovers as soft as they go and see if that helps.

If it does great, increase the stiffness till you get the balance, if not, leave it full soft and put the standard ARB back.

Also a temp gun is always useful couple of fast laps and check the inside middle and outer temps of the front tyres, make sure its using the whole surface evenly.
