FAO Gamers- Project CARS (XBOX One/PS4/PC)

Post by Danny@APT »

The nerdiest among us are probably well aware of Project CARS- a driving simulator in the same vein as Forza and Gran Turismo featuring a huge list of cars and tracks as per the norm. However, what makes it more interesting is that it features circuits that usually get overlooked- instead of Silverstone being the only token UK track, we have Donington, plus all of the MSV circuits too- Oulton, Brands, Cadwell, and Snetterton. :coolgleamA:

The only real fault I could find with the Snetterton vid is that they've put the spooky tree in the wrong place. :D

Providing they don't mess it up- it should be a fun game to play from March 20th :driving:

That just looks awesome.

Best buy a PS4 soon Danny, I notice Dan and all his lot are slowly poping up. Roety appeared too.

Talking of which the Japan tracks have appeared on Drive club, downloading as I type.

Dan has a compulsion to own every console, I think he only played his PS3 5 times, so that renders your argument invalid. Dunno why Roety has one- even if you get him into a lobby, the minute his missus hears he's on it he gets dragged away, lol. ;)

I had a quick dabble on Drive Club round Dan's on Sunday- rain effects are nice, but the penalty for dipping a wheel onto the grass is too great (even Forza have now dialled-back the magno-grass), a problem not helped by the AI ignoring your presence.

I've never really liked Sony's controller either- the left thumbstick position feels too far away, and I had to hold the pad at a slight angle constantly to feel comfortable? Maybe I've held an Xbox pad for too long...

Funny that- I'm so used to using the D-pad growing up, by altering the length of time and how rapidly I'd tap a direction, that I find myself 'flicking' the analogue slicks in a similar way. If I try to steer in a smooth, fluid motion, I just find myself going too far or too little.

Did you see this got delayed again till April now :(

The longer it gets delayed the less confidence I have in it.

GT7 will be out before :)

They kept that quiet- just silently slipped to a 2nd April release date!

I've still got high hopes for it- there's so many good vibes from testers using the early builds which mean it "shouldn't" be shit. however I'm sure we've all been bitten by a developer's false promises in the past.

Indeed, I'm a bit on the other side of the fence, I'd prefer they finished it/got it right than rushed it out early EA style and then either fixed it (Battlefield 4!) or inored the issues totaly (F1 2013!!!!! Codeemasters... wankers.)
