Ref the diff swap if you are going the NA route then the whole subfre needs to be swapped anyway due to different mounts I believe (I've never had th side by side ) I've got a NA diff on my black shorty but yet to give feedback on road performance.

Also not sure if the driveshafts can be swapped between the 2 diffs as again may be different sizes.

I'll be up your way next month too so I'll pop over.

Any realistic seller who isn't trying to monopolise prices upwards would sell a NA diff and subframe for £250 maybe even less. Does away with that HICAS link as well. I know the ARBs on the 2 are different sizes as well.

Right well this is starting to sound like a non starter then as it'll just add more delays to this build. First things first, priority has to be to get this heap of crap moving under its own power and then tweak it later.

This already has a VG30E and gearbox from a z31 in it, I wonder how difficult it would be to cram a VG30DETT and gearbox in there?

That would make one hell of a 650kg-750kg track weapon

I think the only '7' style kit that you'd have a hope of fitting the VG30DETT in would be the Luego Viento

Regarding the diff...

I'm 99% sure that you can put an R32/3 GTR diff into the Z32 NA subframe and everything else will bolt up

Well today I started working on removing the old subframe bushes. After a bit of umm'ing and argh'ing and discussing with Marty (Gonzo12c) I've decided to stick with the TT subframe and diff setup for now. The potential torque restrictions on the NA driveshafts was the clincher.

The subframes look pretty bloody good with only a smidgen of surface rust on the rear, a quick rub down and spray of paint will have them looking as mint as the front

(Pics to follow)

Before Christmas I had a bit of a mishap involving gravity and managed to damage the rear quarter and trash the GT wing arms so they're coming off tomorrow. The priority now is to modify the loom ready for the series 1 injector connectors and replace a few broken coilpack connectors, nothing too laborious but absolutely must be done.

I'll get some more pics up shortly when I'm back at my laptop

With the discussions before on the diff front it is a case of what you gain in faster acceleration with an NA diff you may ultimately lose through grip or torque. It's an easy mod on paper to do and has caught on a lot. I have NA subframe on my TT now and having never tried a TT/NA combination and potential power output of around 4-500 I will be able to comment first hand what the feeling is.

As for wiring if you need any good connectors ive got my old TT loom still.

I'm sure there are plenty of options with regards to strengthening NA diff internals (cryo treatment/CNC'd components etc) and custom driveshafts but for a timely and cost effective solution the TT diff that I have is the simplest route to go down and I also know that the parts in question work well and haven't been f**ked with by a chimp.
It'll be good to have some hard data to work with when your TT engine + box + NA diff combo is rolling
