So when are you going to let me finish polishing it Rob? :D I still have a few panels to do!

Looks great though, in the best colour and now it has the best OE wheels on it too. You must be chuffed

Thanks mate! I still want the bodywork and pin dents fixing first. Time to save some pennies up to get that done. You can work your magic to ensure it stays nice over the winter then!!

Dead car!
MOT failed on brake lines, front flexi's, welding and ABS sensor!
Thoughts are under way as to how to proceed, but one way or another it will be going.

Thats a shame Rob.
There must be somewhere close by to you that can can get the jobs done (properly) for a reasonably kind on the wallet price?
I would be more than happy to help out with the welding side, But i guess your 4 hour round trip in travel wouldn`t make that cost effective.

Thanks Russ, appreciated.
Problem is, I need an "honest" daily driver and need a legal car now!
Dave J is looking at the car currently, and we are in discussions around progressing with the car. Long story short, it'll either get fixed and sold, or sold as is.
The problem is, while I would be willing to have paid £300-ish to get it through the MOT, there were many variables that could have easily meant the costs went up as bits snapped and sheared whilst removing bits to prepare for the work. Bottom line was, I did nt want to get into a hole I did nt want to pay my way out of, and a £300 bill could end up nearer a £500 bill and for a relatively old design, old built car, I questioned the value of proceeding, knowing I still needed a daily ( I had only dropped the car in for an MOT, I expected wrongly to be driving it home in the afternoon)

Sound like it might be worth while chucking on ebay as a classified ad with best offer (so no time waster bidders) as is with the failure sheet - So perfect for the diy`er?
You are quite right costs might run away and if you don`t plan on keeping it anyway why give yourself the headache?
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

The game plan for the 'loon is that Dave J will do it in his down time at the garage. From there, three things will happen:
1. He'll sell it "fixed" with an MOT and we split the profits
2. He'll keep it
3. Something I've not thought of yet.......

I've replaced it for something very "small power".
