Good news guys, so what's next on the agenda?

Change/upgrade 2 parts, then get everything put right, in a nutshell. Just need to nail Alan's feet to the floor so we can sit down and agree on a couple of things. Like time scale.

I'd have him sitting in the Sierra on the trailer with me in the Explorer doing the towing

Back to the car; I'm pleased that Gary gave up his time and facilities for the day (how generous is that? ) as at least that way you're assured of straightforward impartial advice. To see so many things wrong at a fundamental level was a bit shocking to be honest, and you guys have been so lucky not to have blown the engine up. I assumed RGS were far more involved than they actually are and running bloody great stickers on the car that say 'prepared by RGS Motorsport' doesn't help people get the wrong idea (not that it matters to me).

I sincerely hope that you manage to sort the basics quickly and cheaply. With so few people seemingly able to make reliable cars of this nature, surely it's worth the 4 hour drive from time to time to see APT for their services? You seem to have wasted £££££££££ on more local options and not really had the track-time to justify the aggro or expense. At least if you come to the Shire you get to see some countryside, breathe some fresh air and have the pleasure of multiple people taking the piss out of Alan whilst you're there

your face when I was explaining it was a peach mate, the look of "you aint joking" was hilarious
how many times on the way home did you look at a lorry and think of my idea

as for the car there is a lot of crap to sort out so its going to be a long hard road.

guys ill be honest i expected issues and there are a few things to sort but lets be positive its all fixable so you can be out using it again.

what gets me is the lack of understanding from tuners that should know better!

just a few hours of going back to basics means that the following needs fixing.

cams/ cam timing needs correcting, the fix is the correct cams for spec, vernier pulleys and then dialing in to correct lift timing.
basic timing on ecu needs correcting to engine, simple fix when doing mapping.
redo piping for wastegate again, some one has not had the understanding of whats needed.simple fix
the ecu map, clearly this has been done by someone with either little knowledge or interest, again easy fix

at that point its time for dyno and more basic checks with boost levels etc.

ive always been someone whos said stick to cars you know and cosworths are not for us but ill happily work with you guys and get it sorted, i cant do it for free but as Stu said just getting things done right has to be worth it.

ANPR uses a computer program with an algorithm that "knows" what in our case, United Kingdom index plates look like. Anywhere within the monitored area, the computer detects the plate and then calculates what it is. The "hit" gets run through DVLA records and walaah, Big Brother knows where you have been! Most "hits" that trigger alarms such as stolen, no insurance alert the Old Bill. Some on busy motorways just tick away monitoring traffic or average speed.
