What,s on your shortlist? WR1 will be more than your 5k budget or have you decided to spend a bit more? For 5k you,d get a decent Bugeye STI or maybe an early Blobeye.

My favourite has always been the ultra rare Bugeye STI Wagon import!!!

Wish I'd bought it at that price last year !!!

Funnily enough, top of my shortlist is a Bug Eye STi Wagon... And that would have been perfect.

Pretty rare car in the UK Maffster, think you'd need to import one. You could always email torque gt or Newera but I think given the rarity it'll take a while and be more than a UK car.

Be worth it though :)

Ok Bug Eye Sti Wagons seem a bit thin on the ground,

But I found this on eBay, WRX Wagon.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2001-SUBARU-I ... 1580100850

Didn't sell and was re-listed, as its a Norwich sale thought I'd bung it up in-case anyone knew the car/seller.

Think I'll go and have a look at least.

I wasnt kidding when I said it was a rare car mate, there is probably only a handful in the UK. Epic car but I reckon you are looking at 6-7k upwards at least.

WRX isnt going to be as good as an STI but if it's the Wagon you are after then go for the Blobeye, seem to remember there being issues with the 2.5l cars and hence why the Japanese Subarus eg Impreza, Forester etc all remain at 2l. Plus it's cheaper tax than the 2.5l which will be over £400.

A WR1 though is pretty nice.
Personally if you can wait I'd still be having a word with Newera and asking what you could get for a 5k budget ;)

I've got my heart set on a bug eye, but yeah, will stay away from the 2.5s for road tax as much as anything :/

I know its not going to be as much of a beast as an Sti, but once I've scratched the Subaru itch I can always trade up, from reading Frayz post, upgrading a WRX by bolting on all the STi parks dosn't make sense.

I always dither for ages :)
