" Hello is that Eddy"
"Yes, how can I help you?"
"Did you build a Mk1 Racing replica Capri many years ago"
"Yes"
"Well I have bought it"
I build a very special Capri in the late 80's. Originally a 1974 3000GT, I turned it into a Works Racing Replica with lots of trick genuine Ford RS bits, Bilstein GP1 suspension etc. The 3.0V6 was hard to tune beyond 200hp so to get somewhere near the works racing horsepower I had a 275hp TVR V8 built by NCK racing who then became TVR Power who built all the TVR race engines. I did 150 true mph but turned a set of rolling road rollers at 160mph. At nearly 300hp/T it was quick and a little scary lol.
Anyway, it is back with me for total strip to bare shell and restoration. It now runs a standard engine which is going to be sent away and tuned to around 200hp
I will try to get some pics of how it looked when I finished it and was featured in Fast Car magazine, but looks a little sad now. The new owner is looking at spending £15K on it!
It turned up with glass, bonnet and boot and most of the interior already removed.

Straight on the ramp to have a look underneath.

Still had the bobbles on the new tyres I put on it when I sold it 9 years ago! Not been on the road, just stored apparently in a rusty steel container in Scotland! Not ideal.
It has not fared too badly considering. Worst bit is the drivers floor ( I repaired the passenger floor when I built it, drivers was fine at the time)
Hoses, distributor and the thermostat cover are shot

Some ancilliaries off today and lots of nuts and bolts wire brushed/sprayed ready to be undone tomorrow
