when we changed our front brake pads a while back we noticed that the inside pads had warn down and had heat cracks.
so its time to sort out some brake ducting.

start off cutting some strips of metal to make up some mounting brackets.
1 strip and 1 bracket made up.

full pair made up and painted.

bolted the brackets to the chase rails and added the ducting.

then popped the bumper on to make sure it lined up with the meshing were the fog lights used to be.

just need to get a couple clips for the 2 3" pipe sections then start it up and check for leaks.
hopefully all be well and having running tomorrow after work.

nice work pabs, sure you'll see massive improvements on track now you've sorted the boost issues.

On the brake ducts, they are a really effective mod. One thing i'd say is that if you have any pipe left you could make them longer. I've run mine right to the back of the hub/disc so the air directly hits the brakes to cool them. Just put some on the rear too although not used yet except for the sprint where brake temps weren't an issue.

if you look at the 4th picture of the side on view there are 2 pink lines on the chasie rail.
this is were the inside of the tire comes to on full lock and sits about a inch away
so as much id like to as you suggest i carnt make them any longer.

Bonnet starting to look a bit bare. Not taken the cat off yet as have concerns about the paint underneath.

Another day at the new tuners to see where we stood with the car after Alan had sorted out all the leaks. Got there just after 8.30 as the car was booked in for a dyno run at 9.00 and by 9.30 it was done. We were initially a little shocked at the final figure some 80bhp down on the last run. WTF was my first thought as I walked out the dyno room only to called back in by Alan to listern to what Richard had to say.

He calmly and throughly explained how the leaks we had had in effect been acting as a bleed valve which was why it was previously taking so long to make boost. Now that all the leaks are plugged she now makes boost alot earlier and he even commented on how better it felt boosting up on the dyno.

So why are we so down on power was what I wanted to know, to which he pointed out that we are only making 15psi instead of the 26psi which we thought we had

The car is already booked in with them where we will be leaving it with them for a week for them to sort out the boost and get it back to 26psi.

We don't actually feel disappointed by it, as they have started with the car as it was highlighted an area of concern (boost curve), that problem has now been sorted and they are just moving on to the next step of getting the boost back. After that we'll be allowed to go and play with it again, then it will go back to them for what ever they suggest.

It justs feels as if they are working to a plan and we have to fit into that plan.

Pictures and video of the dyno run to follow.
