Great update mate and well done for persevering in what sounds like tricky conditions. So when is Chris getting his then? As I have said many many times to people there is nothing like a RX7, everything else is a appliance!

I am alwaying thinking about getting rid of mine.... then I drive it.....

I have looked at pistonheads and you cant get anything close performance wise for the money - IMHO

Sounds like you had a great day mate but seems like your brake bias is well out because of the BBK. You will need to install a bias valve or get RZ rears to sort it.

your absoloutley right mate thats one of the things I will be looking into just out of curiosity how do the RZ rear brakes differ from the standard ones ?

Here you go John

TYPE R (normal)
Front pistons - Leading and Trailing 36.1 mm
Front disk diameter - 294 mm
Front disk thickness - 22 mm
Rear piston - 34.9 mm
Rear disk diameter - 294 mm
Rear disk thickness - 20 mm

TYPE RS/RZ
Front pistons - Leading 33.9 mm, Trailing 38.1 mm
Front disk diameter - 314 mm
Front disk thickness - 32 mm
Rear piston - 34.9 mm
Rear disk diameter - 314 mm
Rear disk thickness - 20 mm

Looks like the rears just use larger diameter disks. The fronts have a different piston layout and significantly larger and thicker disks.

I have the RZ fronts and stock rears and to be honest I even get a little lock up on the fronts as well. The fronts massively improved braking performance over stock.

Cheers Chris will look into getting some bigger rears possibly grooved too just to keep pad face clean...

I'm unsure what the pads are in the front of mine but I'm guessing they are more tack focussed as they get better as they get hotter they squeel like a banshee when there hot but are still effective.

Will probably look at DS2500 all round when they are needed as I found them to be great on the Soarer and that was a heavy car to slow but they did it very effectively

Great news John and really good to hear about your rekindled love for the car.

Sounds like the track day was good despite the few minor issues. Was there a mess that needed cleaning up in Chris' car :)

Get the pics you sent me on here, it looks great out on track.

For anyone who's interested here's a link to the official photos from the trackday.

Obviously I'm in the red car section ;) My son was in his Seat Cupra pocket rocket in the silver and grey section.

I have got some onboard footage which I need to download at some point !

Enjoy !
