Hi Marty I'm looking at changing a few bits. Trying to stay away from fibreglass but don't want to pay silly money for stuff from the states. I'm in contact with someone who is going to make me a metal wide arch kit.

Wasn't the pucker Strosek wide arch kit made of metal? That's going to cost you a couple of quid having a custom one designed and fabricated, have you put any ideas down on paper yet mate?

Hi mate you are correct the kit was originally metal before the copies came about.
I've been searching the Web for idea's, I don't want nothing outrageous just something subtle we have a few idea's but nothing set in stone.
I've been looking for pics Monsters old zed as I remember his wide arch being very nice but I've not found anything yet.

The engine itself has been stripped and rebuilt due to finding metal particles in the oil on running in. We think it's either a shell or metal left in the block when it was honed

Sounds like you've had a bit of a ball ache having to strip the engine back down, though all good practice I suppose.

As for designing and fabbing' a metal kit from scratch, that's a big commitment so make sure you and the guys get the design right first time bud. It'll be interesting to see what ideas you do come up with as there's a load of potential there.

The mountains treating us well, we survived our first winter up here without any real dramas so all good on that front, the zed build is ticking on at a snail's pace and every other ready built car that I've bid on has been snatched away at the last minute so pretty much in limbo at the moment.

We had our 4th child in January and currently writing my first novel of a series of three. Loads of other shizen going on in the background which has been keeping us busy.

Mine was an SE Nissan Monza2 kit bud, which you cant get anymore cos they went bust years ago, but here's some pics for inspiration

I seem to remember it may have been you who suggested matting it sir Did look good when it was done, I was well pleased with the difference it made for such a subtle difference - I/e white before and white after.

As for the url for the import business, it would have been rude to call it anything else eh? Shoulda kept it really.... ho hum
