will be worth taking it off and check its operation, and make sure valve is shut.

think its time for a new wastegate.

this has abviously been a problem for at least a couple years when I changed the spring for a stronger one :banghead:

diapgham just looks like its been nipped, as long as its not split should be ok, remove rest and make sure the big valve is closing hard against its seat

just a thought and I may sound stupid here but this is a 60mm diameter spring
does this mean its a 60mm wastegate?

No mate, the wastegate size is determined by the diameter of the valve itself, I believe. The Tial/Precision gates we use supply a number of springs of differing diameters which are combined to achieve the desired opening pressure.

Crank, flywheel, clutch, pistons and rods all balanced and ARP bolts used.

Turbo is a GT3076. The only thing we DON'T know is what pressure of spring is in the wastegate.
Ok, cool.

Unfortunately "GT3076" is a fairly generic term as there's a number of turbine housing sizes available, which is usually cast into the housing itself (although Garret have been known to be awkward and cast it on the inside  )

Found a few sites that list the available sizes-

Things are now way beyond what I know or understand, so its best i just leave it to the tuner.

We recently noticed that the engine mount under the turbo had melted so had to be changed. At some point in the near future we will be changing both engine and gearbox mounts to the solid type. So whilst the turbo was off Alan and Wayne set about changing the engine mount.

The boys managed to get the engine mount changed in 30 minutes :)
