Looking really good Matt.....hope you get everything sorted soon and with the power figures you want...
Top quality fabrication but thats what we have come to expect now.

So its been a while again since my last update. Few things have changed I now have the golf throttle body fitted and its so much nicer, far more controllable. I have fitted a fuel cooler as we have been having a issue were the fuel pump just stops working not sure if it was temp of or tank pressurising. I have changed the tank vent valve but it made it worse so now it just has a 8mm pipe going to the underneath of the car so it can't pressurise. The fuel cooler works well as i compared the temp of my fuel rail to a friends we both used a infra-red thermometer and mine was about 18c cooler.

Some pics of the cooler location and the throttle body install. I had to turn the throttle on a 45degree angle so it didn't foul on the engine

With all the issues with the fuel pump and tank with the fact on wednesday the car suffered a bit of fuel surge I am making a fuel swirl pot. It will sit in the engine bay where the battery use to be. I will be using a Bosch 044 fuel pump and leave the aeromotive 340 in tank to feed the swirl pot. I have moved the battery to the boot where the spare wheel use to be as the spare wheel won't fit over my brakes there is no point having it.

Its a tight fit but its in, need to maake a bracket up this week but it can't move any way

where the battery use to sit, need to tidy up the wires but I will do that when the swirl pot goes in.

The next few pics are the start of the swirl pot and I am adapting a stock fuel rail as its large enough. I have drilled out each end so it can accept a -6 fitting both ends for feeds then the the larger port in the centre will be the return (only doing this as Gary had issues with a 200sx last weekend that had a feed from one end and a return the other so I don't want issues) the small port will be taped for a pressure sensor and on the swirl pot I will be putting a temp sensor in so i know what is going on with the fuel.

So with going to Snetterton on Wednesday I used it as a testing session just to make sure everything worked. It really did everything work perfectly (apart from a small amount of fuel surge) all temps were good. I turned the Kenlowe fans up to full power so the water would range from 94c to 88c oil got up to 101c by the end of my 12 mins out there and the gearbox got up to 96c. When I came in the gearbox sensor heat soaked as no moving air and got up to 101 then came back down, on the road cruising at 70mph it will be about 80c. I have ordered a new pace custom twin pass radiator that should be with me next week, I will then be going down to one rad fan as it shouldn't need both the fans anymore. I hope!!!

Thats about it for now.

What did the acceleration / response feel like, it look quick on track.

It felt great. On the road I have a bar of boost by 4k then 16-17psi by 4400. So on track it's always ready for boost. I'm not running a dump valve at the moment so that helps response between gears. Quickest thing on the circuit I came across was a new focus ST which the Honda flew past. Everything felt good.

It was great seeing it out on track and because it's so quiet it seemed strange seeing how rapid it was without any loud exhaust. Fooled a lot of people I reckon.

Hope it did as it's meant to be a sleeper. Static noise test was 87db at 6300 rpm. Glad it looked good on track. Want to go out again but it will have to wait till the car has down it's 2500miles down to Italy, south of France and back next month.

So it's been a while since a update. The car made it on my 2600 mile trip around Europe.

Before I went I finished the swirl pot install which I'm happy with.

I did have one issue whilst away, whilst up a mountain (2000m high) the car cut out, the fuel got super hot as it was high load slow speed and I stupidly put the fuel cooler under the car so now it's between the rad and intercooler. I've also slightly modified the design of the centre part of the undertray to help gearbox cooling. I did take the centre section off last weekend once home and I found a few things, gearbox temps were cooler by 10c (so not massive), s#%t loads more road noise and the car felt unstable at high speeds so trying my idea out this weekend with the mod.

Whilst I was away I took delivery of my new twin pass rad from pace products and new cams and uprated valve springs. Also brought a uprated timing chain tensioner which I fitted the other day, no more chain rattle at start up. The rad had to be sent back on Tuesday as it was wrong and I picked it up yesterday

When it was wrong

Now it's right so started fitting fans.

Fitted to the car today

I will be making a new over flow tank and the car needs a clean.

First impression of the new design rad is night and day. So much better when cruising and when you floor it, it use to build up water temps quick but it hold the temps now and the second you release the throttle the temps drop quick(all with out fans running). So well please with it.

Next job is for Gary to do and that's the cams and valve springs (I know how much he enjoyed the valve springs last time) :leaving:

Got two exhaust cams to test/try and one inlet cam. Once we have done the dyno results for the cams we will use which ever cam has the best results then I want to wire in the boost controller and up the boost in 3rd gear onwards. Also got a fuel temp sensor and fuel pressure sensor to be wired in as long as the ecu has space for them.

That's about it. The car needs a good clean, hasn't been done since I was in the south of France last Tuesday.
