15" wheels and r888's

Post by john B »

Due to the sad demise of of Chris B's MX5 Turbo we no longer have the need for these wheels.

I bought these off Stuart when I bought the MX5 Turbo and had them refurbished and powder coated.
The tyres have done one track day so are hardly scrubbed in.

Oh no, what happened to the MX5 John. Mechanical or an accident?

Some tosser not looking at what he was doing drove straight into the front ns made a right mess....luckily Chris wasn't hurt ......
pissed off though as you can imagine....especially as that was the second car written off by someone else last year for him.....
He has been paid out though just arguments over fault etc.....the other tosser was clearly at fault but because I grassed him up for a bald front tyre and called the police it then transpires he had not mot...he decided to contest blame.

Sorry to hear that John, Glad Chris is ok though. He has not had a lot of luck with cars in the last couple of years has he,
I have a nice Mk1 turbo if he wants another one lol.

Andy916 was asking me about the alloys and wheels when I saw him on Sunday John. I then saw you in the Rex (looked epic by the way) on the A11 going towards the track so not sure if you two caught up-??

If this doesn't underline what the club is all about, I don't know what will

I was driving home when I saw this 'thing' zooming towards me on the opposite side of the road. With the big wing well visible from the front, it gave the impression that the Rex was being forced into the road, looking absolutely planted :)

The red and black/carbon was very different in the flesh; don't know why but it just 'worked' in the flesh whereas my feelings were mixed when I had seen photos. For me I think seeing something so deliberately and overtly aggressive in terms of styling and function in traffic with mundane cars really highlighted how special cars like yours are :cheers2:

Cheers Stu....
Although much of the styling had been decided when I bought the car I am now personalising it to my taste. I accept that it will not appeal to every one but style is subjective.
I do have other ideas to try out this year I hope.
But thanks for the positive feedback much appreciated
