Cool, is it still street legal

Though it still amazes me how those old yank tanks can haul ass' over 1/4 of a mile!!!

Yeah, still road legal and as it competes in the Street Eliminator series, it has to be able to convoy in traffic and run on road fuel too. The sight of the Escort, GTR and loads of other mega HP cars all trundling around Podington and then filling up at Shell must be such a shock for 'normal' users of the local roads :D

The amount of custom fabrication required to go single turbo is just not worth it.

You can fit a pair of GT2871R turbos in the stock location and have almost 800hp with minimal hassle...

If we consider the following a brain storming session only, this is what has been bouncing around in my noggin':

Is there any reason why it wouldn't be possible to keep the pair of AMS z32 mani's fitted to the VG but rather than mount individual 675 turbos to each of the mani's actually mount an adapter plate (with 60mm flange) to where the turbos would usually bolt to the mani's.
Then run a length of wire re-enforced silicon hose (spec'd to +325 degrees C and 30.0 bar) from each of the mani's to a single 'Y' adaptor plate mounted to a front mounted T88 turbo (factoring in external wastegate/short exhaust placement etc. into the equation)?

Effectively running from two z32 mani's into a single adapter plate using the re-enforced hose as a coupler rather than shit loads of fabricated hard pipes and bespoke mani's.

From there run similar re-enforced hose from the outlet to an fmic and tackle the next stage in pretty much the same manner but in reverse (ie. single turbo outlet via fmic, split and run to the 2 x TB's)

The benefit, 'IF' this ^^^^ could be pulled off, is to alleviate the necessity to pull the engine every time something goes Pete Tong with the zeds standard twin turbo setup

Does any of this make sense or am I talking out of my hoop?

The exhaust gas temperature would be upwards of 800 degrees C when you're running at full chat, so you'd 100% need metal pipework and flex joints.

I just had a quick look at the GT675RS turbos, turns out they just GT2860RS with Z32 specific housings...

If you're planning on getting them rebuilt anyway why not just get them machined to take a GTX2863R CHRA? Then you'd be looking at a serious hike in performance

Out of interest how do GTX2863R compare with T88 performance and cost wise? The main reason I was looking at he T88 option was due to the fact that the turbo itself can be picked up second hand for around

So just going off US prices and Garrett's hp figures:

GT2860RS CHRA = $773.20 (rated to 350hp)
GTX2863R CHRA = $1,213.70 + machining to fit (rated to 425hp)

T88 34D is rated up to 800hp
