Yes it's fine mate cheers, it's just a bit of a pain in the backside that's all
To be fair we have been really lucky compared to some of the poor sods out their who've had their homes flooded and such like.
This little canyon is 18 inches deep in some parts and though it could be back filled with the material that's washed to the bottom of the driveway judging by the stream that flowed through their last night, it would just wash back down again
We're going to leave it for now and will look at getting some more drainage put in, the drain at the top is clearly not adequate

It's possible that this was a natural stream at one point and of course nature has a way of taking back what it owns
It's difficult to see clearly in this pic but the concrete base is underneath the material that the Land Rover is parked on. This pic was taken after the rain had subsided and after I had scraped some of it away

The drainage will need to be sorted before we even look at putting the new garage up as there's a pool of water several inches deep in the far corner
Like I say it's not a drama and we're leally lucky compared to some who are at the bottom of the mountain
[img] Q. If you were stranded on a desert island, who would you rather be stranded with....Ray Mears or Bear Grylls?
A. No question....Ray Mears....you could make a shit load more stew out of that tubby little fecker [/img]

Yes mate a 4x4 is a necessity living up here especially if it snows. We sold our VW MPV just the other week and it just go's to show how bad the route up is, the young couple that bought it opted not to take it for a test drive just in case they couldn't get it back up here.
As for the driveway, the first time we spotted it like that was late on the 24th when we got back home from our annual Christmas night away with the kids.....
I might just have to dig my kayak out of the shed and make the most of the extra rainfall, we actual had some rapids the other day in the stream that runs through our garden....silver linings and all that!

Just a random question if I may, regarding alternate turbos
The pair of GT675RS turbos that I have for this new engine are in need of a rebuild, they require new ancillery parts and some machining, so will cost regardless. Now what I'm considering is the possibility of moving the turbos away from the stock location (ie. either side of the engine bloke, low down behind the engine mounts) and potentially move them forward, in fact outside of the engine bay in the stock headlight location.
Custom mani's, pipework and external wastegates would make this possible.
We're now weighimg up the pro's and con's of doing away with the GT675RS tubs (which would max out around 600rwhp) and opt for larger 1000cc injectors and a single T88 or possibly even a twin T88 setup with short pipe exhaust exiting through the front fenders.
So the questions I suppose are what are the likely problems that we would encounter by switching turbo location and going for a much larger/old technology turbo/turbos and what additinal supporting mods should we now be considering.
The engine internals and supporting mods are more than capable of coping with 600rwhp so in fact by sticking with the 675's we would be selling ourselves short, and figure that if we can go bigger and eleviate increased lag on launch then there's scope for turning this heap into a bit of a 1/4 mile contender.....and I'll be honest I see it performing better down the strip than on track and far more likely to be ready for a few passes at Santa Pod than a full season of track testing and TA, not to mention the fact that it's considerably cheaper!!
We're looking at cheap second hand Global's to fulfil the 'fun on track' role and at around

I can't offer much in the way of tech advice with regards to fitting the tubbies somewhere other than factory but..............

..............these boys may be able to
This is a small block chevy running two turbos behind the headlights. The car is owned by Matt from Team Extreme racing. The car and engine was put together by Webster Race engineering and I'm sure that Matt or Webster's could be of use to you
The Global's sound superb. Look forward to reading 'the next step'

Very useful mate thanks
I don't suppose you know how regular slick tyres compare to slick drag radials?

Slicks used for drag racing have really soft sidewalls, hence the big wrinkly effect that you see on slow-mo videos or freeze framed launches.
I have started looking after the Team Extreme cars and hope to be supporting them in their competitions this season, so if you have any questions I will be happy to ask them on your behalf (Europe's fastest GTR, Escort Cosworth and Supra

I've just watched one of their runs in the GTR, 8.4 seconds!!!
That's freakin' quick for a pretty chunky car, have they run quicker than that yet?
