That was a christmas to forget.....After Barts engine went in his daily driver and the hassle to get that sorted Waynes timing chain guide snapped. This meant an engine strip down and rebuild. The boys got this done in a week. Then on his way to work the next morning the crank pulley bolt came out, the pulley fell off and the metal bits of the engine all said hello to each other.

The last job before the Fronty went was to go and collect 2 engines.

The next day Wayne started stripping one of the engines to check it all over before the install only to find that it was no good. So christmas day was spent with the boys fixing Waynes car for the second time is as many weeks.

This has meant that nothing has been done to the race car, so we are now a month behind not to mention the costs of all the repairs.

Such is life, deal with it and move on:willy_nilly:

Sorry for the lack of pictures forgot to collect the camera from Alan. Will get some up next weekend.

Anyway, things are starting to move forward so thought I would share.

1. Rollcage is in just the doorbars to be done (waiting on drivers seat).
2. New seat mounting frame mock up made. This Lowers the drivers seat by about 4 inches. Not as simple as you might think due to the little and large nature of me and Alan, the seat needs to be bolted in place yet still be adjustable to allow us both to drive.

When I tried the seat out today Alan simply said 'can you still see over the steering wheel':boxing_smiley:

3. Oil catch tank set up has been changed to stop oil soaking the breather filter and dripping on the exhaust. Caused by the up grades to the suspension.

Time to take the car for it's annual Motorsport Obligatory Test (mot). We use the same guy every year because he goes over everything and I mean everything. He checks every inch of the underside of the car and points out every bit of rust he finds.

Took the Explorer to him for it's mot and every bit of light surface rust anywhere near the tow bar appears as an advisory. Which I actually think is brillant as its no where near a failure but as it's a tow vehicle it helps remind me of what areas to work on before it can be a concern.

FAILED

1. Headlight bulb holder loose but works
2. Play in lower suspension arm
3. Handbrake cable seized

Could have been a lot worse. Have you got any testing planned for pre-season?
