Thanks guys, and yes the blackberry really does take a shite picture.

Fortunately, Although I thought it was a good suggestion, I didn't have to do as Pez suggested and put the gtr in the living room. After consulting a few people who know about paint, namely Dan the man who painted it, and BPs own paint expert Mr Staples I decided to put it in the perma bag today. So some more cack bb pics to follow...

So it was a bit of a faff getting the car in and I was glad of dads help. The problem was that the exhaust and rear wing made the back of the car quite deep so i had to keep moving it forward before it would zip up. I remember now how much I used to struggle with the wide arch zed with it's deep diffuser and huge rear wing.

first get it in position

then put the internal "pyjama" cover on to protect the paint from any chaffing

then put the dessicant cylinders inside the bag, zip it up and cover with the extra weather cover and voila, a spaceship in the drive

you can then monitor the relative humidity levels inside the bag throught the clear screen and if necessary whip the cylinders out and put them in the oven, although I've never had to bother in the past.

My bird saw this and said it was like a Onesie for the car - not entirely sure I'm happy with that but ho hum

The car is looking great with its shiny new paint and scab free exterior. Impressed that you made the effort to clean the old girl properly; will make the spring time unveiling all the more enjoyable

Cheers Pez, I reckon March time depending on what the weather's doing. I was speaking to Ryan at 2bar (the mapper) the other day and he's convinced me to go for this new fuel sensor that allows the car to run Methanol so I want to get that done sooner rather than later.

Its a no brainer, the syvecs doesn't need a special map to run the methanol, it just monitors how much you've bunged in and compensates automatically. Apparently it's dirt cheap and chucking say 20% in with v power should see another 50bhp easy, more for more. So this means cheaper running costs, more power (or same power at less boost) and a much safer engine (less boost and better fuel).

Struggling to see a catch really.

Cheers Stu, I surprised myself if I'm honest, but I've experienced bodyshop interiors before so know what happens if you leave it in there.

Funny you say that, I'm already excited about getting it out again....

Oh, and had a reply from Perma bag today and you were spot on, they said that advice was for the older style and that a baked paint job was fine to put in there
