I'm please to share this recent job on here. Some of you will have seen some of these pictures on Facebook, but I know many of you guys don't use it and for those that do, the updates seem to be cherry picked so not all of them reach all of the guys that keep an eye on my work!

Winter protection and paint enhancement valet

The car is highly tuned with big money invested into the brakes, suspension, exhaust, alloys, ECU and related electronics, engine, bodywork and interior. Like most Japanese tuned cars it gets used properly, so plenty of road grime, brake dust, heat burn/staining from the exhausts. Couple that with evidence of scuffs and paint marks on most panels, and it looked like I would have my hands full on this lousy, damp and foggy December day

So the car was taken outside and the alloys, tyres and arches were cleaned first using car shampoo only. 20" Advan alloys in a polished finish required very gentle cleaning so I wasn't going to take any risks with strong chemicals

After the wheels were taken care of, I moved onto the exhaust system in terms of cleaning and polishing before pre-washing and carefully cleaning the paintwork and glass. This included all door shuts, fuel flap along with boot and bonnet shut lines




Traces of tar and contaminants were removed and then rinsed, leaving me with a fundamentally clean shell ready for polishing (paint enhancement)

Poor light and phone cameras don't really capture much of the polishing before and afters, but here's one that highlights the difference between polished and raw

With the car paintwork completed and ready for protection, a heavy duty winter proof sealant was applied. Time to move onto the engine bay which in truth needed very little work but attention was given to the plastics and rubber, as well as the metal surfaces

With the outside of the car complete, attention was turned to the interior. All leather surfaces were cleaned and treated

All plastics and rubber trims were also cleaned and treated using a combination of detail brushes, microfibres, cotton swabs and cocktail sticks!

Carpets and fabrics were thoroughly vacuumed, shampoo'd and vacuumed again

Agree with Trev, Mines is one of THE most expensive tuning companies in Japan isn't it. But for good reason looking at the quality of the parts on it.
