Has the forum run its course??

We don't spend all our time in the car.... honest

G man is spot on. I was thinking about when Suzy used to organise the MR2 costal runs etc. There were a real blast, a very long trip stopping off at multiple places along the way was pretty much excellent. At some point I'd like to do a road trip into Europe, but again people have different levels of disposable income.

I know we get the 'forum's dead' kind of post every year or so, but the timing of this one is particularly poignant. This one was hard to read.

Before I started it back in '06 I thought that the banter before, during and after events crystallised what I wanted a forum to be. Guys that knew one another could trust on another, and guys that could trust one another could share track space with one another.

The cycle Ben refers to has been oft discussed. With a reduction in new members we get less new posts, less events to talk about, less build threads and it's ever decreasing circles from there. Someone that I have been helping recently talks about working in a vacuum (long story) but our forum has lost profile due to the reasons above, the few new members are recommended through word of mouth alone and the days of me approving 10 new accounts a week are behind us (for now?). Our vacuum means that we have the same people posting about the same kinds of things, and as priorities change we're slowly being picked off like a horror movie! :D

___________

In terms of static events, one that I am really keen to go to next year is this one
https://www.facebook.com/ChelseaAutoLegends

Think FoS but closer to home, cosier as the environment seems to be more relaxed (from those that have been to both) and the nature of the cars is top draw.

____________

I'm open to ideas about boosting numbers on the forum first of all (as this would drive everything else) but I've asked the same thing before and got nowhere and that isn't blaming anyone.

I have been asked to co-drive a rally car next year..........maybe I'll document that, get some videos etc.

It's definitely a tricky one. More people are needed to make it busy again but attracting them requires events and that needs people! As said. Ever decreasing circles.

You've all seen these cars too and no longer see it.....

The 3 cars 2 of which pictured above all have.

'BIGPOWER.co.uk' stickers on them.

Alan's GT has a bigPower sticker on it.
Waynes's 4x4 has a bigPower sticker on it.

Probably going to get my arse kicked for this but what the hell, i'm over 100miles away:smilielol5:

There was probably a time when you couldn't drive round Norfolk, Norwich or where ever its called and not see a bigpower sticker on some car. So heres the question.

How many cars on the club stand at the charity event actually had a BigPower sticker on. We all love this place.......
