very nice.....how much negative camber did you dial in front and rear on that particular day?
[img] Q. If you were stranded on a desert island, who would you rather be stranded with....Ray Mears or Bear Grylls?
A. No question....Ray Mears....you could make a shit load more stew out of that tubby little fecker [/img]

Malc, where did you find that? I looked on opentrack for pics of the day last night and couldn't find. Must have been first run as had forgotten to take numberplate out of windscreen (always do so number plate pics mean first session).
Pez, Think it's running -2.5 on the front and -1.5 on the rear but would need to check the sheet

Been a bit quiet on the thread update or any forum activity recently as been a bit busy with other things. Annoyingly I'd intended to be out at snett last week for a last TD of the year but by the time I got round to booking it was full
Just seen Dave's offer for snett next week but the bonnet is currently at the bodyshop and I don't know if I'll get it back in time. Agggghh.
So the bonnet saga continues, and Dan the sprayer called me to say he thinks I might be best to rub it right back, re-laquer it and leave it as carbon as there's less stuff on there to crack again etc. My preference would be Blue again but i think it would look ok carbon so I left him to see how it looked once completely taken back.
Another, and likely cheaper alternative is to just put vents in my original Ally bonnet. Would have to fill the holes where the catches are (as I want them in the new position to prevent the lifting that was happening before) but otherwise probably lots less work.
Anyway, lets see.
Then thoughts turn to winter and I've had a good quote on the arches and bodywork that needs doing. Unfortunately the geezer has been served notice on his premises and so can't book in work until he knows what dates he's got.
So Dan who's doing the bonnet is also going to quote me.
Also got the PermaBag out as I think I'm going to put the GTR in that for the winter rather than filling up the garage.
Hope to get out again before she goes away though.

Plan B may be to get the vented bonnet wrapped mate? Must be reasonably good value to do I would have thought and gets around any adhesion/blistering issues
Good luck as always.....nothing is simple with GTR's it seems!

Never a truer word spoken! I agree on the wrapping but have decided to go with lacquered carbon. I need to have the final conversation with Dan on it but we've pretty much agreed on that, and he suggested tinting the lacquer black which I think will really good. Well, i hope so anyway as I'm not throwing any more money at this fucking bonnet if it doesn't
He's also going to put the nismo lip on the bonnet and paint that black. When it's in for the arches and other work I may also have the Ganador mirrors painted black too as the plastic looks pretty shit having been in the sun for all of 5 mins.
As the GTR is going to be looking pretty old skool JDM with it's bare carbon bonnet my thoughts then turned to other JDM stuff and ended at stickerbombing. I'm currently thinking of wrapping the front splitter/spoiler whatever you call it in black and white JDM stickerbomb sheet, with drift cow etc. I think this will look cool although may have changed my mind by tomorrow, and am happy to have it changed of course as it is quite random...
Cost will probably snap me back to reality but I also keep thinking that while the ca'rs being painted I should do something with the front bumper where it;s cracked between some of the drilled holes, maybe put some proper vents/scoops or whatever in it and have it painted up all nice. However, I quite like the "function over form" look it currently has, and also think a track cars front end should have some rash and damage so am a bit undecided
