Well I have just got back from the cinema after watching Rush, I know opinions are personal but I have to say I was plesently suprised at what a good film it was....Not too Hollywood which was a relief.
The casting was fantastic I really don't think they could have found better actors to play the part of Hunt and Lauda.
Apart from some continuity issues I spotted (sadly I look out for things like that) I think it was spot on.
The story in the main part was pretty accurate it had humour,tits,action,shagging,a few more tits and some racing...
I have to say my enjoyment was helped by the documentry on BBC3 a couple of months ago about the 76 season between Hunt and Lauda and helped to piece some of the story together...
Two extremely talented drivers with different outlook on life who had grudging respect for each other.
Well done Ron Howard and co !

I've been waiting for this to be released
I read James Hunt The Biography 2 months back and I thought that it was a really good read that sympathetically showed the other side to James Hunt outside of racing.
After reading it I was intreagued to see how it would translate to the big screen
I'll be taking the wife to watch this on the weekend I reckon

Old thread revival I know but after failing to make it to the cinema in time to watch this last year I decided to buy it on DVD on the weekend.
It's definitely worth watching and I agree with the above comments about the actors being very well cast for the role's of Hunt and Lauda, something which my wife also commented on (and incidentally has lead to my walking around the house for the passed few days imitating Bruhl/Lauda's pronunciation of "Ash'hole!")
She's not a big racing fan but even she enjoyed the film.
I did however pick up on the fact that the early race scenes at 'Crystal Palace' were in fact filmed at Cadwell Park...
I highly recommend reading Hunts biography first and then watch the film as it's simply not possible to get the full in depth views of both characters in a film that's only 2 hours long
Certainly a film that can be watched more than once

We got the DVD on Saturday and watched it after a curry at home.
Agree with what has been said. All in all a good flick. Something for everyone, nice bit of humour.
Recognised the Cadwell scenes too and a bit of Snetterton of course, but I guess they chose them for a reason.
One to keep on the shelf for future viewing.

I also agree with everyone above. I too had to wait till it came out on dvd. Emma really wasn`t fussed about watching it. It would seem its a woman thing in thinking that this film is going to be a "boring" film about F1. Emma did watch it and ended up calling it a brilliant film and was far better than she was expecting. To use her exact words it had a bit of everything. Laughter, Sadness, Action and from her point of view a good bit of eye candy in james hunt.
