I enjoyed reading about the mobility and turn in following your changes, and it was interesting to see how Malc and you download to one another and make real changes to your laptimes
Where else can you get 1.6 seconds off an already fast laptime with no risk to reliability for the same kind of money? Driver tuition and support really is the way forwards when you get this serious.
Just a quicky, good to see Christian and the Monster again and especially good to see the 2:08s pop up on the data, 2 laps, both in the 2:08s out of a 2 flying lap run. Real shame the conditions changed as i'm sure with a bit more running we'd have seen lower times.
As ever with setup, you gain some and you lose some, the key is to get more gains than loses. It was clear last time that we weren't using the whole of the front tyre and you could see that in some of the external photos from the day. Adding more camber was one option but would have had some fairly significant negative effects and requiring more hardware. Springs were the way to go and I remember from many <cough> many years ago we went for 1,000lb springs on a race R32, which seemed extreme at the time but transformed the car.
!! I actually found some footage of the car I was involved with, never raced it unfortunately but here it is (the yellow one) driven by Rob Squires!! well worth watching see how little roll they had.
A certain Mr Matt Neal who raced the other GTR R32 gives a commentary.
Going to compare the new data with previous data and see where the gains were and if there are any loses in terms of time.
Thanks all, but yes I am very enthused again, great to be back on track (it was June the old brakes let go) and be seeing real, quantifiable benefits from mods and money spent.
I can't say how much I enjoy Malcs analysis of the logged data and am definately going to go for the kit, probably next year. But it's his input that really helps and brings the numbers alive.
Interestingly he emailed me today and my suspicions were right, I was losing time under brakes but making it up in corner and exit speeds. Also increased lat G's from 1.1 to 1.33 so that's also good.
In fact I'm enjoying it so much I'm going to think seriously about going racing next year, work commitments and house jobs dependent.

Also amazed that was running 1000lb springs, looked quite soft to me..
