It survived, well just about!

I headed north to the home of stock hatch, Pennine.

I was greeted to the not most warm of welcomes which was a bit of a surprise

Car failed scrutinerring, as my face didn't fit. Most guys there run Saxos and don't like a Hybrid AX but this has been built to the rule book and after a few heated moments and me asking to be shown the rule i had not understood and not go on opinion my car was signed off and I could go racing!

This set the tone for the rest of the day!

First heat was fun as was rather wet came home a steady third..... 2nd heat and I had a superb start and finished in 1st that really didn't go down well
3rd heat and I was squashed off the line by cars from either side and had to back of as they took my front bumper off and some how I got got the black flag for dropping parts of the car what a joke. 14 cars started and the top 8 get into the final. My 3rd and 1st had secured me a place. Another great start and I was into first, then the reds came out and the reason, two people missed the start, not jumped but were caught napping WTF a disgrace visitor in first lets stop the race, rerun saw a jump start an no reds he went onto win with me in a very close second knowing that if I tried to make a move I would be in the fence.....

Only flags on the day were for visiting drivers, standard of driving from locals was shocking, marshalling decision were all home member biased. Joke of a club, can you get I won't be back....

Car didn't miss a beat and has shown great potential looking forward to racing some local meets at a decent venue.

2nd outing for the Ax was at my own club Cambridge, car was perfect. 1st heat 1, 3rd heat 2 and 1st in the final.

Great result in the 9 as well winning the final after 2 sets of red flags.

Missis raced the Ax in a mixed class due to low numbers in the ladies and won her final in the class 1 min.

PS can you spot the new sticker....

I have been watching the Rallycross on the MotorsTV channel and it looks like a real entertaining ride and makes for good viewing .
Iam surprised at the welcome you had from the trip up north i thought that sort of thing didn't happen these days , i assumed grassroots stuff was friendly which is what makes it good to do . Like the prep work on the shell looks functional and tidy , which is something i have trouble doing and wish i didn't. Pete
